A Song For The Ages

I remember the first time I saw Elvis Presley perform.   It was on the Ed Sullivan show. I was major impressed. I was watching it with my parents and my dad was anything but impressed or at least not the same way I was.

I have watched every one of his movies over the years and this was one artist where my daughter shared my feelings. Certainly different for me and my mother. I never understood what she and her generation saw in Frank Sinatra and Fred Astaire. Though, I have with age, changed my opinion of Sinatra.

One Pair Of Hands is one of my favorites and especially in these times though it is a song for the ages.

Enjoy!

  1. I loved Elvis’ music and giggled and swooned over his movies when I was younger. I never felt the lifelong crush thing, though. He was extremely talented and gone too soon.

  2. It was a talent that was almost missed as it was different.

  3. I loved Elvis. At school we ran a poll and had to decide whether we liked Elvis or Cliff Richard the most. It was always Elvis for me. Lovely song.

  4. I liked a lot of his songs. Of course he was nice to look at too. 🙂

  5. Beautiful – my sister is a super fan. I love his songs as well- his religious ones are so lovely. I am related to Sam Phillips, the man who owned Sun Records and gave him his start! 🙂 Jillian

  6. I never used to like Elvis until I saw a few of his films, but now love most of them, his films and his songs. If I had to pick a favourite it would be hard to chose between In the Ghetto and Wooden Heart. 🙂
