Looking Back on 2018

Free-Christmas-ClipartHo Ho Ho, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I love this time of year and what a fun way to end a year.  Only 10 more days until we see 2019.

Today is the first day of winter and we have been getting some nasty weather.  Twice, in as many days we have lost power.  Not good, but at least it’s at night so I can go to bed with warm blankets and a good book.

With the New Year looming, I am reflecting back on what a really great year this has been.  In a few days, I am going to be taking off with two friends for Arizona. We are driving down which is a fun trip as we don’t hurry. What do they say? “Getting there is half the fun.” I was down there 3 times this year and I’m loving it.  Earlier this month we flew down and were enjoying pool time while up here in the Pacific NW the temperatures we really cold.

So 2018 was a year for travel.  Arizona, including a month-long visit in January, and 2 shorter trips where we flew in.  A Panama Cruise, it had been awhile and we really enjoyed it. Plus numerous day excursions including a day on Anderson Island.

2018 was also a year for upgrading. I got granite countertops for the kitchen that are PERFECT.  A new car, I traded in my 2010 Lexus for a Highlander that has a lot of safety features the other one didn’t.

Oh my gosh, it didn’t take me long to get used to it.  I even found myself standing in front of the bathroom sink waiting for it to come on automatically.  And, just a few days ago Rick installed a ToTo bidet toilet seat.  Wow, I am so happy with it.  Bidet’s are more popular in Europe, but with these seats, I can see them catching on quick in the states.

As I write this I’m feeling Thankful for the love of family and friends.  They are my everything.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and the best and brightest 2019.
