Book Review: Safe Haven

201210-safe-havenA 5 star read from Nicholas Sparks. This story caught me from the first to last page. Katie and Alex are memorable characters. When Katie shows up in Alex’s small town he isn’t looking for a relationship but from the first time he sees her he senses she will complete him. He also knows that she’s in trouble.

Katie has secrets, life threatening secrets. Her choice is to keep running or taking a risk on Alex and the love he offers. 7812659

This story offers it all, a beautiful love story, suspense and terror, faith in friendships and a surprise ending. This is one book you won’t want to skip ahead and read the ending as I’m knowen to do. ☺

The cover above is from the movie, the one to the right the original. Hopefully this will make it easy to spot at the library or bookstore.

  1. Sounds like my kind of story. I love these book reviews on OTBF and have found many new-to-me authors from them.

    • We try to have the reviews on the last Monday of the month. Laurie and I have been taking turns with them but if anyone wants to write one just let us know. It is a good way to find new authors.

  2. Having read the story, I completely agree with your recommendation. It’s a solid, emotional story.

  3. Ooo, I love Nicholas Sparks books. This one definitely on the must read list. Thanks for posting.

  4. Nope. Can’t do it. Can’t deal with the tearjerker part. LOL!
