This book is an anthology with two great stories. The first one “Never Say Die” by Tess Gerritsen takes the reader back into the Vietnam War and runs parallel with current times. Willy Jane Maitland is on a quest to find out if her father is dead or alive. Missing in action for twenty years he is legend. The plot twists and turns making sure you have to turn the page. The characters are flawed, imperfect and ones that will stay with you long after the last word is read.
Debra Webb was a new author when “No Way Back” was released. This is the first story I’ve read by her but I’ll be looking for more. I didn’t think it was possible to read a second story as good as the first and one by Tess Gerritsen no less, but Debra Webb is a master storyteller. Intrigue, romance and an unbelievable fast paced plot combine to make this a story that’s impossible to put down. Ami and Michal set their world on fire as together they beat the odds of corrupt terrorists.
Both stories are romances so even though it seems impossible at times that these two authors can pull it all together to come up with a happy ever after ending they do. And, with all the bells and whistles you could hope for.
