Welcome to 2012

Welcome 2012. I hope this will be an amazing year for all of us. I’m enjoying being a part of this blogging community and think all of you are wonderful ladies and I’m lucky to have you all in my lives. We don’t say it enough in this life and I wanted to take this moment when the year is new and tell you all how much each of you have been a blessing in my life.

It’s funny how we make friendships on line and feel more of a bond with the folks we have things in common with all around the world than sometimes we have with our own backyard neighbors.  This blog is well-named since we are all a long way from each other, but we’ve gotten to know each other as if we were having a cup of coffee or tea over the fence.

I’m happy to have you all as my neighbors and wanted to say so. Now, enough of all the sentimentality, and let me show you a couple of cool shots I took when I was way away from my own backyard fence and in England for Christmas. I was lucky enough to have the chance to spend a week over there and have some quality time with the family.

  1. Oh! I’ve seen most of these places. The London Eye (no way I’m going up in that), Buckingham Palace, Harrod’s, and that’s Trafalgar Square, right? We did London Proper in a whilrwind 8 hour tour. Whew! Our tour guide was the ultimate guide–a London cabbie with a huge interest in history. It was perfect.

Like you, I’ve treasured the new friendships I’ve made online through this blog and other venues. I’ve loved all the comments folks have made and the discussions we’ve had. 2011 was a fun year and here’s hoping 2012 is even better!

    • Awesome that you had such a great tour guide. I love history and am glad you got your whirlwind tour. Yes, that’s Trafalgar Square. Good eye.

I hope we have a great 2012 as well. It should be amazing!

  2. Jillian, great pictures. It feels like a step back into time. And for the sentiments. You said it all. I have made some really good friendships online. One that has morphed into a real life friendship as we live pretty close and can get together. Surprisingly our husbands have benefitted as well.

  3. Fantastic pictures! And I share your sentiments as well. It is through the common interests that make me cherish the time I get to spend with my friends in the writing community and beyond.

  4. Love your pictures!! I’m so jealous of your time there, but we squeeze in travel when and where we can. 🙂

Thanks so much for bringing me into the fold here! It’s great to make new friends.

  5. Nice Pictures, Jillian! I LOVE Europe!!

    JH!

Fantastic pics! Excellent shots. I hope your trip was all you wanted it to be.

Happy 2012 to you as well, Jillian. I have been MIA this new year and (as usual) am playing catch up. The friends we make over long distances do seem to be the ones who we share more of a connection with. I’m enjoying getting to know each of you here better. I enjoy sharing the highs and lows and reading about your lives. It may take me a few days (or weeks) but most times I smile after my time spent here.
